Directional & Wayfinding Signage

Directional & Wayfinding

Directional and wayfinding signage leads visitors through a building

The Burke Group designs a sign plan, starting with the architectural drawings and the architect’s signage guidelines. A building walkthrough reveals key destinations, how to naturally navigate the space and where signage can steer you in the right direction.

Room and office signage. Directs you to offices and meeting rooms.

Hanging signs. A starting point for visitors. The sign plan should identify the best spot for the sign. In a school, for example, that might be the central foyer, which leads to the library, office or gym.

Lobby directory. A sign in a building lobby that directs you to the right floor. With directories and hanging signs, the choice of material depends on the building type and its interior design. Another factor is budget. A Cadillac sign might be aluminium but directories could also be acrylic or plastic.
