Saddle Stitch Binding

The Saddle Stitch

Finishing touches say a lot about you

The machine earned the name saddle stitch, because it sits over the paper like a saddle and drops in the staples. With saddle stitching, the number of pages must be divisible by four. The process begins with a large sheet printed with four of the booklet pages. The sheet folds down to become part of a magazine or booklet. The saddle stitcher automatically trims the document, so the publication comes off the machine finished.

Saddle Stitching

Places three staples on the booklet spine. The saddle stitch is almost invisible when customers open the page, which allows images to unfold, uninterrupted across the spread.
