At Burke Group, we know the importance of community. As leading signage and printing shops in Edmonton and Calgary, we understand the importance of connection and giving back. In 2024, we were proud to partner with numerous incredible organizations around the city, dedicating our time, resources, and printing expertise to make a positive impact. From donating promotional materials for local charities to volunteering our time at community events, we’ve had a busy and fulfilling year of giving back. This blog post highlights our community involvement in Edmonton and Calgary throughout 2024, showcasing our commitment to the cities and communities we call home. We believe that being a responsible business means using our skills and resources to support the community that supports us.
Supporting Our Communities and Local Organizations
- Canadian Blood Services: Recognizing the importance of blood donation, our team participated in four blood drives throughout 2024.
- Edmonton’s Food Bank (Multiple Initiatives): We organized a company-wide food drive, collecting essential food items for those in need. Additionally, our team members volunteered their time at the Edmonton Food Bank, sorting and packing donations. We also donated our printing services to create posters and flyers to promote their initiatives.
- Tools for School (United Way): We donated boxes of school supplies through the United Way’s Tools for Schools program, helping ensure that students have the necessary tools for a successful school year. We also printed promotional materials for the United Way to help them advertise the program.
- Run Wild Event (May): Our team volunteered at the Run Wild event in May, supporting this popular community race and promoting healthy living. We also printed race bibs and other event materials.
- Movember: We joined the Movember movement, raising awareness and funds for men’s health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. We even designed and printed some promotional materials for local Movember events.
- Jandel Fill a House: We also supported Jandel Fill a House Campaign, which teams up with local businesses and community groups to fill their sales centre home homes with donations of food and toys! In 2024, Jandel Homes collected over 700 food items, 280 toiletries and clothing items, and 415 toys!
- Samaritan’s Purse: We volunteered our time packing donation boxes for Samaritan’s Purse, contributing to their efforts to provide aid and support to children and families in need.
